Classic Blue and White Tamarindo Wedding
This power couple had been dating for a little over two years, living together in an apartment in Annapolis, and had even adopted a sweet dog named Kaya together. They loved exploring their town together with their new pup. Eastport was a beautiful neighborhood that they frequently took their dog, Kaya, on walks through.
On one Saturday, after a particularly cold and rainy week, Jason suggested a stroll in Eastport to soak up the sunshine. They walked down to the water at the Eastport Maritime Museum and let Kaya off her leash to chase the ducks. Peggy was distracted by Kaya, making sure she didn't go too far out in the water when she turned around to Jason on one knee. He proposed on the little beach there. Peggy said "It was such a special moment in one of our favorite places in Annapolis, where we frequently spend summer nights by the water, watching live music. But on that day it was just the two of us and our dog. It was such an intimate and special moment."
The romantic day was not over as Jason planned another big surprise for that night. They headed to celebrate at one of their favorite bars, Blackwall Hitch, and were joined by all of their family and friends waiting to celebrate!
Peggy wasted no time getting down to planning, she was so excited! They chose Costa Rica for their destination I do because of family ties to this paradise. Jason lived here for a few months after college, his older brother lived in Costa Rica currently, and Jason's mom had a condo here that she spent about half of the year in.
Before meeting Jason, Peggy had never been to Costa Rica but after hearing all of Jason's stories she knew how amazing it was here. In 2017 they took a couple's trip to come to visit. After falling in love with the beaches and lifestyle here, she couldn't wait for an excuse to visit again. Peggy explained "It was unlike any place I had ever been before, with its pura vida lifestyle, beautiful beaches, and rugged landscape. It had everything. Ever since I was little, I always pictured myself getting married on a beach. After Jason proposed, we both decided Costa Rica was the best place to have our wedding, because it had so much meaning for us, and especially Jason's family."
Cata was the wedding designer. She helped Peggy decide on florals and design aspects that fit perfectly for the space. Peggy loved classic and timeless style. She focused on blue, white, and green for the color scheme.
Cata took Peggy's childhood beach wedding vision and turned those dreams into a reality.
This couple wanted to make sure the planning was easy for the guests too! So we paired her with Arlene to book their hotels, airport transportation, and activities throughout Costa Rica. This is so helpful to keep the bride focused on her big day.
The day-of coordinator was a fellow American, Kristina, she really brought the day to life. From the coconut welcome cocktail to the live art at the reception and every moment in between the day flowed perfectly with our timeline. This wedding day was seamless and another reason Peggy + Jason will always love Costa Rica.
My fiance and I got engaged in March of 2018 and decided shortly thereafter we wanted to do a destination wedding in Costa Rica. I reached out to a ton of wedding planners in Costa Rica and as soon as I received a response from Meghan I wanted to hire her!
She was immediately so helpful, so knowledgeable and made the daunting task of planning a wedding abroad seem easy. We set up a Skype call and she helped us narrow down 3 to 4 venues to look at. Fast forward later and we booked Pangas Beach Club as our venue for December 2019.
Meghan put is in contact with all of the best vendors. Meghan's team is also amazing to work with! I worked with Cata on the florals and design aspects.
Cata was always available by email, phone, text, etc. She really understood the vision I had for the wedding and made my design dreams a reality. My guests worked with Arlene to book their hotels, airport transportation, etc. Arlene was super responsive and my guests all had wonderful things to say about how helpful she was in booking their plans.
Kristina was my day-of coordinator and she was so cool to work with. She really put me at ease and made me feel relaxed on my wedding day. She was super on top of things and such a boss. Meghan is so knowledgeable about weddings in general, not to mention her specialized knowledge of all things Costa Rica. There wasn't a single question I had that Meghan couldn't answer for me.
Her team was simply amazing. The wedding day went EXACTLY as planned with about 90 guests attending. Everything from the beginning to the end was seamless and an absolute blast. If you are considering a destination wedding, do not hesitate and book Meghan as your planner!
Meghan and her team truly made my destination wedding dreams come true. Thank you Mil Besos Costa Rica!!!
