Halley + John

Halley and John call Virginia Beach, VA their home. They escaped the winters in the states for five years to head to Costa Rica and completely fell in love with the country. Every year they make more and more memories here, so choosing this paradise was an easy decision for them. They love the laid back and beach loving atmosphere that comes with Costa Rican culture and quickly decided on a Sueno del Mar Wedding to match!

This dreamy duo was well-traveled. But, every trip to Costa Rica was very sentimental for them and it inspired them to incorporate the Pura Vida principles into their everyday life. They focused on being more open with each other, more environmentally conscious, and of course making sure to take time for the slow moments. So they knew they wanted to embody the same ideas into their wedding day!

For the big weekend, they stayed at Sueno del Mar, which is a beautiful beachfront hotel. They rented out the entire estate and had the wedding there as well! They hosted some of their guests at surrounding hotels for easy access to the venue. This intimate venue was perfect for their big day. The morning of the wedding was superlaid back. The bride's gown was by Willow by Watters, the bridesmaids wore dresses from Show me your mumu, and the flower girl dresses were from Bittybambu. We loved the accessories from this wedding too! The groom and the groomsmen ties were from Dazi and the brides earrings were made by brides mother.

They kept to earth tones and natural decor to really leave the focus on the stunning location. The bride said one of her favorite moments of the big day was seeing the florals for the first time. She said " They were better than she could have imagined. Guests came up all night raving about them and we all took some arrangements back to our rooms and they lasted all weekend!"

This talented bride was a calligrapher so she made all of their printed goods. Everything was thoughtfully designed from the invites to the thank you letters to the seating chart. Her authentic flair really shined through on all of the printed documents.

They have traveled all over this country and appreciate how each region of Costa Rica is different and special in its own way. They represented each place they loved in the table names and also had custom gem slices for the guest seat names.

She also said she loved Sol, our coordinator, saying "She was truly a gem! She was always in control and made us feel well taken care of while still creating a masterpiece outside. Plus, she immediately felt like family."

Tips from this bride: Halley says "Get a videographer! Now that I have seen how amazing the photos were, I wish I had a video that would have been super special! Make sure to think about that when budgeting."
