Brittney + Jarret

Brittney & Jarret were originally considering being married in Costa Rica but ultimately decided to stay in the U.S. They wanted to retain that destination wedding weekend experience for their guests so we created the perfect boho beach wedding in Key West, Florida.

Key West was such an incredibly fun destination for this wedding. There are so many venues to choose from that Brittney and Jarret traveled a year before their wedding in order to select the right venue. They selected The Reach but just a few months before the wedding the property announced construction that would begin around their wedding date so events were moved to their sister property Casa Marina Resort. This venue was stunning and we loved the dramatic walkway at this location! We changed some of the design and layout to suit the new venue. Everything turned out better than we could have ever imagined!

Brittney and Jarret have two sweet little girls, Jet and Leni. They have created such a beautiful family and wanted to incorporate them into the wedding day as much as they could, while still allowing mom and dad to celebrate and party.  Utilizing a great local babysitting team made this possible.

The morning of the wedding Leni and Jet were with Brittney while getting ready. They laughed and played while the big girls got ready and they even got to help their mommy with her earrings and admire her bouquet close up. They shared some special moments we are sure they will always remember.  And also results in a few of our all-time favorite photos!

Brittney's bouquet had fun spiky greens, white roses, white calla lilies, and pink protea for a tropical touch. The bridesmaids carried a single protea and lush greenery. This wedding design was very boho romantic, with vintage details and a clean, soft palette. There was an elegant feel overall with interesting and unique touches at every turn.

The colors this bride wanted really blended beautifully with the beach ceremony setting and romantic vibe of this venue. Ivory was the perfect foundation for this wedding. It is bright, clean, neutral, and any color used against it POPS! The deep leafy greens really showed throughout the florals suiting the soft coastal vibe. The pop of pink in the Protea flowers was perfectly complimented with seeded eucalyptus, Italian Ruscus, and lemon leaf.

One thing we really loved about this venue is the stunning walkway to the ceremony site. It is perfect for any bride that wants a dramatic entrance. We lined the aisle with a patterned Persian rug with hints of pink and candles on each side. The pampas grass added an extra natural gold shade in the ceremony decor. Subtle gold & champagne gold details shimmered throughout the event making everything feel very naturally romantic.

After the ceremony, everyone headed to the beachside patio for photos and cocktails. A spread of hors d’oeuvres were served that included chipotle roasted corn and caramelized onion tartlets, shrimp in black sesame crusted rice paper, and lobster bites with a mango curry.

Brittney is also a photographer so she knew the style she wanted to see in her photos and really wanted to a photographer who would capture all the candid moments. White Diamond Photo captured the day beautifully.

This day of this wedding was beautiful but rain was in the forecast so we had to make sure we had a plan B in place. The clouds crept in during the end of the ceremony and then during cocktail hour, as photos were finishing up, it began to rain. We were so happy the weather cooperated for the parts we needed it to! We originally planned the dinner and dancing on the beach but the ballroom was a plan B (that looked like a plan A). It worked out beautifully and the air conditioning inside was appreciated by guests!

Everyone danced the night away on the black and white dance floor (that dancefloor was one of Brittney's top priorities for design) and later in the night they continued the party on Key West's famous Duval Street.

We are so happy to have been a part of creating this celebration and enjoyed getting to know Brittney & Jarret - and their sweet girls! Congrats and cheers to many more happy years ahead!
