Houston residents, Brooke and Shahin, had previously visited Costa Rica twice and knew Costa Rica was the perfect fit for their wedding. The couple had traveled around the mid-Pacific region and mountainous La Fortuna but wanted to hold their wedding in a new location. They wanted to invite their family and friends to not only celebrate their wedding but enjoy a fun vacation in a sunny, beach destination, so they decided that the Guanacaste Province was a great fit.
The couple selected Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica for their wedding venue. One of the great things about holding a wedding in Guanacaste is that the Liberia International Airport is located close by, making travel easy on your guests. In fact, the Papagayo Peninsula is just 40 minutes from the airport.
This bride wore a stunning Pronovias Atelier gown paired with Jimmy Choo pumps and David Yurman jewelery. The groom wore a custom suit from Saks Fifth Avenue. A detail that we loved was the Brackish Bow Tie which is custom made in Charleston, SC from reclaimed feathers! The bridesmaids wore BHLDN and the groomsmen wore suits from Suitsupply.
Brooke’s style is romantic all the way, soft colors, draping fabric, gold details. Shahin’s style is more modern, so we incorporated that by using ghost chairs for the ceremony and details such as the geometric cake stand.
They used a lot of vendors from back home like their photographer Mustard Seed Photography, videographer Sculpting With Time, bespoke decorations from N.E. Design Studio, and hair & makeup stylists from Sunkissed-Madeup.
We went with a clean design consisting of soft, elegant flowers in white (roses and tulips), tropical greenery, some gold accents, minimal touches of soft pink with King Proteas, and small touches of Navy.
For Brooke and Shahin’s cake, we asked Karina of Cakeology to blend romantic and modern with the color palette of the wedding. She created the sketch you see in the wedding photos below.
The beautiful Sofreh Aghd was a worldwide collaboration and included designers and products from London, US, and Costa Rica. We worked with Niusha of NE Design Studio for special items like the sugar cone, wheat bunch, bread roses, nut clusters, sugar ball clusters, eggs, golden fruits, paisley, rock candy flowers, and espand flowers. We sourced the remainder between the US and Costa Rica.
The ceremony music was inspired by the bride’s taste in music. Brooke takes cello lessons in her hometown of Houston, so she knew she wanted a cello for the ceremony. We were so excited to offer a white grand piano for this and immediately had visions of cascading flowers on the piano. The trio that played the ceremony music consisted of a violin, cello, and piano; They were terrific and the perfect fit for the ceremony!

The ceremony took place on the Event Lawn and the reception in the open-air pavilion. The reception ended with a sparkler exit on the way down to the beach to enjoy fireworks. This was followed by a late night pizza and drinks after-party at the Añejo bar at the Four Seasons.
To end the night on a thoughtful note, guests were surprised with late night cookies & milk waiting for them when they returned to their rooms!
