Rob worked as a barista at a popular campus coffee shop that Kate frequented, and though she spent a year secretly pining for him, it wasn’t until Rob moved into the apartment two doors down that their paths truly crossed. One day, while passing in the hallway, Rob finally asked Kate to get coffee, and from that first date, their connection was undeniable. After graduation, their relationship grew stronger as they navigated long-distance, with Rob pursuing a career in television in Los Angeles and Kate in Dallas for graduate school. Eventually, Kate followed Rob to California, where they’ve continued to build a life filled with love, adventure, and their shared passion for good food.
Rob’s proposal was both sentimental and playful, just like their relationship. During a sunset walk to the beach—a place they often visited near their home in California —Rob led Kate to a gazebo decorated with string lights and champagne, where he popped the question. Before getting down on one knee, Rob reminisced about a trip to the Alamo, where early on in their relationship, they both tossed a quarter into a wishing well. Rob revealed that his wish had been to marry Kate, and with that, he pulled out a blue Ring Pop (a nod to their inside joke) before finally revealing the real ring. Kate, of course, said yes, marking the beginning of their next chapter together.

The couple chose to forgo a traditional wedding party, focusing instead on an intimate, personal ceremony officiated by Kate’s brother-in-law. The stunning Pangas tree served as the backdrop, adorned with two beautiful arrangements of tropical greenery, white flowers, and subtle pops of pink, perfectly capturing their love for modern, natural design. As self-proclaimed foodies, the menu was of utmost importance, featuring fresh fish, perfectly cooked steak, and all the high-quality ingredients they both adore. Kate, a lover of dark chocolate, and Rob, who always opts for savory over sweet, ensured the meal was a perfect reflection of their tastes and love for good food.
