This power couple had been dating for a little over two years, living together in an apartment in Annapolis, and had even adopted a sweet dog named Kaya together. They loved exploring their town together with their new pup. Eastport was a beautiful neighborhood that they frequently took their dog, Kaya, on walks through.
On one Saturday, after a particularly cold and rainy week, Jason suggested a stroll in Eastport to soak up the sunshine. They walked down to the water at the Eastport Maritime Museum and let Kaya off her leash to chase the ducks. Peggy was distracted by Kaya, making sure she didn't go too far out in the water when she turned around to Jason on one knee. He proposed on the little beach there. Peggy said "It was such a special moment in one of our favorite places in Annapolis, where we frequently spend summer nights by the water, watching live music. But on that day it was just the two of us and our dog. It was such an intimate and special moment."
The romantic day was not over as Jason planned another big surprise for that night. They headed to celebrate at one of their favorite bars, Blackwall Hitch, and were joined by all of their family and friends waiting to celebrate!
Peggy wasted no time getting down to planning, she was so excited! They chose Costa Rica for their destination I do because of family ties to this paradise. Jason lived here for a few months after college, his older brother lived in Costa Rica currently, and Jason's mom had a condo here that she spent about half of the year in.
Before meeting Jason, Peggy had never been to Costa Rica but after hearing all of Jason's stories she knew how amazing it was here. In 2017 they took a couple's trip to come to visit. After falling in love with the beaches and lifestyle here, she couldn't wait for an excuse to visit again. Peggy explained "It was unlike any place I had ever been before, with its pura vida lifestyle, beautiful beaches, and rugged landscape. It had everything. Ever since I was little, I always pictured myself getting married on a beach. After Jason proposed, we both decided Costa Rica was the best place to have our wedding, because it had so much meaning for us, and especially Jason's family."
Cata was the wedding designer. She helped Peggy decide on florals and design aspects that fit perfectly for the space. Peggy loved classic and timeless style. She focused on blue, white, and green for the color scheme. Cata took Peggy's childhood beach wedding vision and turned those dreams into a reality.
This couple wanted to make sure the planning was easy for the guests too! So we paired her with Arlene to book their hotels, airport transportation, and activities throughout Costa Rica. This is so helpful to keep the bride focused on her big day.
The day-of coordinator was a fellow American, Kristina, she really brought the day to life. From the coconut welcome cocktail to the live art at the reception and every moment in between the day flowed perfectly with our timeline. This wedding day was seamless and another reason Peggy + Jason will always love Costa Rica.
