Lexi + Paul

Intimate Destination Beach Wedding in Tamarindo Costa Rica

This love story has a funny beginning! The bride's mother actually met Paul on the same day as the bride. Lexi was touring local radio stations promoting her music with her mom when they both met Paul. He just so happened to be the local DJ interviewing Lexi. Both Paul + Lexi weren’t looking for a relationship at the time but Lexi’s mom just had this feeling that they would make a great couple. As for Paul, he was “interested in at least getting to know Lexi for the next 3-6 months.” Who could have imagined that 5 years later they would be exchanging vows an intimate destination beach wedding in Tamarindo, Costa Rica!

They say love comes when you least expect it. When the love of your life just so happens to be talking in the mic across from you, you throw timing out the window and take a chance. Which is exactly what Paul and Lexi did! The more time they spent together, the more they liked each other. The attraction and connection were undeniable.

Over time it was clear. they simply made each other better and helped each other grow as individuals. Five years later, Paul proposed to Lexi with Mario and Princess figurines. This really encompassed their playful attitude towards love. Lexi even surprised Paul by using the figurines as their cake topper!

After a year of looking over many options, the couple landed in Costa Rica for an intimate destination beach wedding in Tamarindo. They loved the laid back style and that most of their guests had never visited before!

The ceremony was at one of our most requested venues, the Pangas Beach Club on Playa Tamarindo. This venue is awesome for destination weddings because the tree-covered space allows us to create a beach wedding that doesn't feel like the typical beach wedding.

For the ceremony overlooking the water, we wanted to use lush and tropical flowers as the focus of the decor. Lexi loved the bright yellow, orange, and pink contrast to the greenery. Lexi and Paul exchanged the most heartfelt and personal vows in front of their intimate wedding of 17 guests before sealing the moment with a big kiss.

Everyone headed to the beach to take photos with the happy couple and then they slipped away for some quiet time with a walk on the beach. All of the guests headed back up the restaurant to enjoy cocktails and play Jenga.

Love radiated the whole afternoon, between Lexi + Paul to their family members. After the sunset, they enjoyed an intimate dinner with lights strung in the trees overhead. The place cards were written in gold on the palm leaves. On the plates were custom made turmeric dyed napkins to achieve the exact yellow Lexi wanted!

Good memories were shared over good wine before they cut the wedding cake. We loved that they incorporated the same figurines from their proposal on the wedding day too! Such a sweet touch!

This trip was more than just a wedding for the couple and all of their guests. The week was spent at the beautiful Westin Playa Conchal where they relaxed all week by the pool and ate wonderful food at the hotel. When guests arrived they were greeted with thoughtful welcome gifts including custom made Pura Vida wood signs in bright yellow matching the wedding design!  Throughout the week, they went to the Diamante Zipline which includes access to the 4,461-foot (1,360-meter) zipline, as well as a Tarzan swing, free fall, and a hanging bridge that dangles over crocodile-infested waters! That was just the start as they also visited an animal sanctuary and ended the pre-wedding activities with a catamaran cruise. It was a trip no one will ever forget!
