Matt and Clara’s journey together has been filled with fun, adventure, and shared passions. They met during a community theater production in Minnesota — Matt was an actor, and Clara was the choreographer. Their love blossomed on opening night, and they've been inseparable ever since. After moving to Ann Arbor together, they built a life full of travel, cooking, and supporting one another. Their engagement in Portugal, overlooking the stunning cliffs of Sagres, set the tone for the incredible adventure that awaited them — a destination wedding in Costa Rica.
The morning of the wedding was filled with laughter and lightness. Clara, with her hair styled half up and half down in soft curls, wore a classic white robe, while her bridesmaids and moms complemented the tropical setting in soft blue robes adorned with bright roses.
Matt really brought so much style in his wedding day fit! His dark green suit was perfectly matched with a cool patterned tie added a fun, personal touch that embodied his playful spirit.
A very touching moment was shared with the bride and her sister - a first look in the garden. We absolutely love the idea of doing first looks with family especially if you don't do them with your partner. It is a fun moment of excitement that really helps you be present in the moments before the ceremony.
For their special day, they chose the breathtaking backdrop of Arenal Volcano. The ceremony took place in a stunning stone chapel, offering an unobstructed view of the volcano's majestic presence. The chapel's natural beauty paired with a full split arch decorated with vibrant tropical flowers and lush green palms created an unforgettable scene.
A meaningful tradition that stood out during the ceremony was the washing of each other's feet—a beautiful symbol of humility and service, representing the couple’s commitment to always care for one another. The couple was serenaded by a local singer, and a live painter captured the awe-inspiring view of the Arenal Volcano, ensuring that this magical moment was preserved in art forever.
