Kate + Nate came to us with a clear vision a the boho elegance inspired wedding of their dreams, and we were so grateful to have brought that dream to life in Las Catalinas for this beautiful couple!
These lovebirds met back in college and once volunteered in San Jose which gave them the inspiration for an intimate beach wedding in Costa Rica. This couple is the epitome of active and adventurous - in between hiking, cross fit, skiing and kayaking, they are always planning for their next big trip together. Like most of us, they had plans to travel the world before Covid hit in 2020 - so instead of the international proposal in Africa that Nate had initially planned, he popped the question on a family trip to Colorado while hiking up a glacier (pretty amazing Plan B, right?!) He even had a surprise party with all of their family and friends when they arrived back home, kicking off the many celebrations to come for these two.
When asked to describe their relationship, Kate + Nate immediately responded by saying that they are the best of friends. They wanted their wedding to feel intimate and tight knit, so finding the perfect boutique hotel for their guests to enjoy each others' company was a huge priority. Apart from that, their biggest wish was for all the guests to enjoy a stress-free vacation while joining them in the biggest party of their lives!
The love between their bridal parties was palpable - Kate planned a sweet surprise for her bridesmaids when getting ready to wear matching "babe" shirts that they'll cherish well after their departure. Yet for the bridesmaids dresses, Kate let each of her best ladies pick out their own style and color dress with the goal of having everyone feel their most comfortable. The mis-matched bridesmaid dresses were the perfect way to ensure each of her babes could complement their own unique style!
Kate + Nate's vision was to play off of the natural colors of the beautiful beach surrounding them. Thus, this stunning couple opted for a more neutral palate with mostly ivory and dried elements but with pops of greenery and burnt orange. The bridal bouquet included pampas grass, draping orchids, and eucalyptus which complemented her boho elegance style perfectly. Dried foliage is a great option for those seeking sustainability as these flowers can be resourced or easily preserved for couples to cherish in the years to come.
Their ceremony and reception had so many moments that made it unforgettable - from the champagne tower to the surprise choreographed dance-off from the bride and her dad, this intimate party was truly the best night of their lives. They spent the end of their night dancing under the stars together, just like they always dreamed of.
