Marissa and Jordan invited their closest family and friends to Costa Rica for a wedding week that blended romance, adventure, and meaningful time together. With just 17 guests in attendance, their celebration at Villa Caletas felt deeply personal while still full of unforgettable destination wedding magic.
The days surrounding the wedding were designed as an experience for everyone who travelled in. Guests spent time exploring Costa Rica together, with some heading out for ziplining, ATV rides, and waterfall adventures before the wedding day, while others enjoyed horseback riding through the beautiful landscape afterward. It created the feeling of a true holiday celebration, where wedding memories were woven into a larger shared trip.
On the wedding morning, Marissa got ready in the Suite at Villa Caletas while Jordan prepared nearby with his closest people. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, with hair and makeup, room service lunches, and the anticipation building throughout the day.
Marissa chose to do a first look before the ceremony, wanting to share a private emotional moment with Jordan and complete many of their portraits ahead of time. The two met on the balcony overlooking the Pacific, surrounded by the incredible scenery Villa Caletas is known for.
The floral design was tropical, modern, and romantic. Marissa carried a bouquet featuring white orchids, soft pink tones, anthuriums, and cascading textures, while Jordan wore a clean boutonniere that complemented the elevated tropical style. Their ceremony space embraced the natural beauty of the venue with no arch and a circle seating, allowing everyone a perfect view of the couple. Guests were seated in X-back chairs, with two statement floral arrangements framing the setting.

As guests arrived to the Mirador Patio, they were welcomed with flavoured water and sunshine before the ceremony began at golden hour. Marissa made her entrance escorted by both her father and stepfather, while Jordan walked with his mother. They exchanged personal vows in front of the people who know them best, creating a ceremony that felt intimate, emotional, and genuine. The rings were hidden under a suprize guest chair - a fun interactive way to get everyone involved in the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with their favourite cocktails, Marissa with a red sangria and Jordan with an old fashioned, before signing their legal paperwork with two close friends as witnesses. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the couple slipped away for portraits around Villa Caletas and Zephyr Palace as the sun began to set.
Dinner took place at the Mirador Restaurant, where guests were welcomed into a candlelit reception with tropical floral accents, elegant place settings, and panoramic evening views. Marissa and Jordan were introduced as husband and wife before sharing their first dance to You’re Still the One by Teddy Swims.
