Jaco is the most accessible beach town to Costa Rica’s capital city, San Jose, at only a 1.5 hours drive from the Juan Santamaria International Airport. This town is known as one of Costa Rica’s most developed towns and many new attractions have popped up over the years. Jaco has grown to be known for its party atmosphere, so it is a perfect destination for those who want to go surfing during the day and enjoy nightlife later on!
Jaco is known for the relaxed beach life atmosphere and the fun nightlife. It is also perfectly located to be a gateway to nearby national parks. Jacó Beach offers surfing, sportfishing, snorkeling, diving, and a variety of shops and restaurants. To the south, Playa Hermosa’s big waves are home to international surf competitions. To the north, Carara National Park has crocodiles at Tárcoles River and scarlet macaws. A path through the rainforest in Pura Vida park leads to the 600-foot tall Bijagual Waterfall. You can also explore around to see beautiful views from hikes of Mount Miros or jump on a boat to cruise to Tortuga Island. There is always something to explore here!
The Zephyr Palace at Villa Caletas are located a short drive from Jaco and the are most luxurious venues in this area. Their hilltop location offers stunning panoramic coastal views. Los Suenos Marina and the Marriott are also to the north of Jaco and a great option for those that want access to sportfishing, easy proximity to San Jose, or a property that can host a larger guest count. We have also planned weddings right on the beach in Jaco.
