Sina + Lexi love to travel and explore new places. They knew immediately they wanted a destination wedding because they wanted their family and friends to not only attend the wedding but also experience an adventure! This couple are both California natives who now live in Los Angeles. The groom had never been to Costa Rica but Lexi had. After we worked with them in narrowing down the best places to get married in Costa Rica and reviewing the different Costa Rica wedding venues, we created a site visit itinerary to make the most of their time. They traveled throughout Costa Rica, visiting wedding venues in Manuel Antonio, Santa Teresa / Mal Pais, Hacienda Pinilla, Tamarindo, Playa Danta, Sugar Beach, Playa Hermosa, and Papagayo area.
Of all the beautiful wedding venues they visited, Villa Punto de Vista was the best fit for their vision. When they pictured their wedding as encompassing the beauty of the lush jungle along with a beach vibe and luxurious accommodations they couldn't imagine anything better than Villa Punto de Vista and Villa La Isla. The custom signage you will see in wedding photos below, "Where the Jungle Meets the Ocean", was on point for emphasizing their theme!
When Lexi told us about their love story, it was filled with so many adventures. They are college sweethearts who met at UCLA. They have traveled all over the world, with trips to Chicago, New Zealand, and Big Sur. They learned to scuba dive and went sky diving together. They love being active including biking and hiking. In their downtime, they have been to many great concerts and are always on the search for great food. Lexi said "Sina always finds the best authentic Persian food where ever we go." They were always surrounded by great friends too!
After the perfect dating life, Sina was so sweet and put in a lot to plan the perfect surprise engagement. He even planned it for over 6 months! After a really busy period at work, Sina said he wanted to do a weekend getaway. The plan was to relax and step away from work to really enjoy some much needed alone time. They drove to Big Sur, a place Lexi had been wanting to go to for a long time. They loved exploring along the coast.
They checked into an amazing boutique hotel then went for a drive to a beautiful viewpoint. This adventurous duo hiked up to a hilltop and Sina proposed overlooking stunning views! The best part - he flew in two best friends to hide and take pictures of the whole thing! Then planned a dinner and relaxing rest of the day. Then they drove to Napa where they went wine tasting and both of their entire families came to celebrate for the rest of the weekend. Once we heard this story we knew the wedding was going to be just as thoughtful!
When we started planning they told us they wanted a day that was fun, memorable, inclusive for all family and friends, music-filled, exciting, welcoming.. basically, the best-executed dinner party with 75 of their favorite people! We also planned a rehearsal dinner for all of their guests too!
Lexi wanted an elegant, warm, and creative wedding. We used lots of mood lighting, simple colors but lots of texture to create her dream wedding atmosphere. This bride loved neutrals, white, stone grey, black, nude, forest green, gold, brass, sky blue, navy, beige, wood, and earthy tones and we had fun dreaming up combinations of these for a natural color palette.
Their vision came to life from the morning enjoying getting ready in the bridal suite with the girls, to the 360 view rooftop for the ceremony and dinner. The ceremony focused on an airy light feel with white chairs, modern gold decor, and lush greenery. Lexi loved orchids and we incorporated them all around and overhead.
The ceremony was touching and reminded us of some of the answers that we received from our wedding questionnaire. We asked the couple what they loved most about each other and Lexi replied. "Our partnership - that we always choose each other over everyone and everything else. We both challenge each other constantly to think out of the box and keep an open mind. We both love our families and value those relationships more than anything."
Sia said he was looking forward to building a life together and experiencing new things together. He said he couldn't wait to travel, find a dream house, and to start a family. We can't even imagine how beautifually this love story will continue to unfold.
After cocktail hour, everyone headed back up to the rooftop to a fully transformed space now for the dinner reception. The crisp modern feel stayed throughout the wedding this time with bell-shaped glasses, gold-rimmed plates, black candles, and black napkins.
At night, the DJ added in some Persian music to highlight Sina's culture and his family really loved that detail. It was such a beautiful wedding! Special touches such as the bartenders serving up a crowd favorite, espresso martini's, cigars, and late-night tacos showed their thoughtfulness of their guest's experience. Congrats Sina + Lexi!
Where the Ocean Meets the Jungle Rehearsal Dinner

Then we decorated the space with boho decor. Take a peek! The dress code was all white, extra points … Read more
