Casa de Campo is such a huge property with so many beautiful locations that Constance and Andy decided to plan a couple’s photoshoot the day after the wedding. This is such a smart move since it takes the pressure off in trying to fit in all the photos on the wedding day. Hair and makeup sometimes run long while getting ready on a wedding day, so fitting in a long couples session at the First Look is not always possible. Plus, you get to dress up and celebrate twice! This time in a more intimate way.
They explored this unique Ponderosa-style tropical resort in La Romana. This is one of the most beautiful places on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic. There are 7,000 acres of land previously used for Central Romana’s sugar mills. In 1975 it was developed as the first resort in the Dominican Republic.
In this timeless resort, you can explore 300 feet tall cliffs above the Chavón River, wander the streets of the village of Altos de Chavón, and enjoy the view of the sea and distant mountains from the new marina.
The old town village of Altos de Chavón is an unexpected surprise within the property of multimillion-dollar private villas, a modern marina, restaurants, shops, and bars. One of their 3 acclaimed golf courses remains the only Caribbean course consistently in the world’s top 100 courses, often in the top 50!
Constance and Andy got ready for their first adventure and slipped back into their wedding attire at the villa. We planned a food truck lunch for the guests to enjoy at their leisure while the couple went for their shoot.
The old village is so charming with cobblestone paths leading to stunning cathedrals and fountains. At every turn, you can envision the history. The beautiful scenic vistas will stop you in your tracks. As you overlook the river and see the mountains standing tall in the background. They even saw a donkey they remembered from their site visit and took a few photos with him before heading to their next location.
One especially famous place in Altos de Chavon is an amphitheater that top-notch entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Shakira, Sting, and Elton John have performed in! You can feel the magic as soon as you walk in. It’s huge! Constance put on an edgy custom leather jacket that read “It was always you.”
We hope you enjoyed this stroll through Altos de Chavon with Constance and Andy on their first day as Mr. and Mrs!
