Meet Arlene, our in-house Costa Rica travel expert. She organizes all of the guest’s travel needs from the transportation from the airport, booking accommodation at the many venue options offered here, and she helps plan all of the things to do for your wedding guest list. She has planned catamaran trips, surf trips, excursions through the rain forest, coffee tours, and more! Anything you can think of, she can help plan for you!
Our couples have loved this part of our service because even giving recommendations to your guests, along with selecting wedding details, can get overwhelming. We can help take the stress out of those little moments so you can go back to enjoying the planning process. Although, most of the time – you will never meet Arlene in person. So we wanted to give a better intro to this boss babe with a fun Q+A. Let’s begin!
Where’s your dream vacation spot?
As an avid traveler, I have always wanted to go to Greece! I feel like it ticks all the boxes – my love of food, architecture, beaches, and being on the water.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Funny enough, I always wanted to be a lawyer! I still love books, series, and movies around this. However, I am pretty happy I ended up with this job. I get to explore and visit beautiful places. I love the thought of everyone celebrating together and being a part of that!
What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
I think this would be moving to Costa Rica. I was all by myself when I was 27 and starting new. Wow, I can’t believe that was 11 years ago! Time flies.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
This is a tough one, I would have to say overall my work ethic. I have always given any job or career path my all.
What’s your favorite book or movie?
My favorite book would have to be The Alchemist by Paulo Cohello. My favorite movie is tough, I love so many! I think Gremlins and My Best friend’s wedding are 2 of my top favorites.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Ooooh! So many fun ones, I think to be able to fly or transport anywhere would be awesome!
Who inspires you the most?
I would have to say, since I am the youngest, that my 3 brothers and sisters inspire me the most. They have been like my parents and best friends all rolled into one.
What does a perfect Sunday look like to you?
This really depends on my mood. Today I would say to sleep in a little, go for a walk by the beach, swim in the ocean, relax sipping some delicious coffee with a view, explore and check out little boutique shops, go for a delicious dinner, then go home and snuggle with my hubby while we watch a movie.
What has been a new thing you picked up during quarantine?
I would say doing yoga more consistently. Since there are no classes, I have been doing yoga daily instead of a few times a week.
What is your favorite pastime or hobby?
I love to paint, even though I am not very good at it. It helps to relax me.
